Modify Category

Step One
Even if you will not be paying Yahoo to be listed, their guidelines are a good model of the kind of information that will help people find you when they need you.

Step Two

Identify the single best Yahoo.com category for your site by searching for a keyword that best describes your product or service. Yahoo.com has an enormous array of subjects to choose from. You should pick the single most relevant category for your site. If you select an inappropriate or unrelated category, our editors will manually reassign your site to the category we deem appropriate.

Step Three

Once you've selected the best category for your site, go directly to that category on Yahoo.com and then copy-and-paste the URL of that category (e.g. http://dir.yahoo.com/Entertainment/Humor/Movies and Film/ ) into the text box below.

Search Terms to Find Your Business Category
In order of relevancy, enter the 8 best search terms to find your organization's category (not your site) and be specific. For instance, if you are a tennis magazine, use "tennis magazine" or "tennis news" instead of the word, "tennis".

Adjunct Categories

Enter adjunct categories of business to promote yourself within search terms of related or adjunct industries. If you are selling flowers, why not promote yourself under greeting cards! Increase your exposure 5 to 10 fold. Your website will automatically appear under many categories of adjunct search terms.
